Lisa Townsend, Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey, recently joined Mole Valley Conservatives for their Spring Association Dinner at Wootton House, Dorking.
The dinner was also attended by Secretary of State and Minister for Women and Equalities Kemi Badenoch MP, guest speaker for the evening. Kemi spoke to guests about her work within Government nationally, as well as the economy and budget.
Speaking on the importance of small businesses, Kemi also highlighted their role and value in local communities. She explained that both small businesses and local business leaders will play an important role in delivering the government’s plan for a strong economy.
Speaking after the event, Lisa said: “It was a pleasure to join Mole Valley Conservatives and guests for their Spring Association Dinner again this year.
“The evening was a great opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues, and also get to know some new faces. It’s encouraging to see so many people getting involved in the local party.
“Hearing from Kemi was great and I look forward to continuing to work closely with her in her role as Minister for Women and Equalities to tackle violence against women and girls.
“I also enjoyed speaking with many residents in attendance who took the time to speak with me about their concerns in the area, particularly about rural crime and Anti-Social Behaviour.
“Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour is a key priority of mine, and I am pleased that the government is focussed on tackling this in our communities around the country.
“I look forward to more events in Mole Valley and around the county over the coming months.”
